As a company of actors, we are consistently indulging in our craft by reading and watching performances. To aid us with our next chapter, drama school auditions, our most current process included a range contemporary and classical monologues - in which we were looking at using within our next chapter. We combined these monologues and linked them, in order to produce a performance which told a story. The piece was an abstract performance, evolving around the question 'what is an actor?' in which we included the most interesting acting warm-ups, and the typical things an actor would do in their day-to-day life. Our performance included elements of comedy, as well as contrasting elements of heart-felt emotion. As each monologue had a theme, we found that our performance consistently went from one extreme to another. All this was crafted in two days of rehearsals.

Our process began independently, where we each found suitable monologues which matched our age range, location and fitted the requirements of what is 'contemporary' and what is 'classical.' We also had character songs prepared to weave in throughout our performance. We then performed these monologues and songs to each other in rehearsals, where our our director and us formed rough links between them. These links would eventually turn into a story line.

We then spent two days devising alongside our director, in order to create a performance. We included everyone, with each actor performing at least a contemporary or a classical monologue; as well as a potential part of their character song.
Our piece resulted in over an hours worth of running time,
and all 18 of us actors having an opportunity to deliver
our speech. We performed to an in house audience,
here at the Miskin Theatre, rising to the limited time challenge.
